favorite movies

my taste in movies range from chick flicks to dramas. however, there is one definite criterion: a plot that takes the viewer on an emotional ride. in this blog, i will try to give critiques that are thoughtful and useful to anyone who wants to read this blog. :-P

My all-time favorite movies are as follows: all photo credits go to google images.

Bridget Jones's Diary (1999): the journey of middle-aged spinster Bridget who navigates hilariously through tricky dinners with smug married couples and parties with purvey co-workers. she is lovable in her battle of wits with mark darcy.

Pursuasion (1995): the eternal struggle of man and woman: to forgive errors of the past in order to receive love in the present. anne and fredrick engage in a silent battle of inner doubt and distrust in a love that really is not that complicated.

Notting Hill (1999): as perfect as an imperfect love story can get. william, the loveable babbly englishman, makes you long for what's behind the blue door and anna, the american actress, makes it's fine to be imperfect.

love actually (2003): the tale of many loves. follow this collection of the deepest love stories in london at christmas. the brilliance comes in the fact that these stories are veiled in the festivity of a christmas tale. there is a story for all in this gift for the heart: the married couple struggling with betrayal, a man whose heart bleeds for his lost love, a man who covets his best friend's wife, and all the many silly men and women who find love in unexpected places.
